Hangover headaches are directly linked to dehydration. Yep, alcohol dehydrates. Gulp down water like your life depends on it! Sports drinks are good too – you know the ones packed with electrolytes and sodium. Replenishing and refreshing! Better yet, on your night out, tag each alcoholic beverage with a glass of water. Trust us, your head and your wallet will thank you for it.
Avoid panda eyes at all costs
Don’t go neglecting your bedtime beauty routine. Take your make-up off and follow with a hugely hydrating night cream like our Every Evening Cream. Don’t worry about applying with upwards circular motions, just chuck it on your face and flop into bed.
A dose of natural sugars will help do the trick too. Speed up the recovery process by downing a glass of OJ. Better still, banana, kiwi and avocado will help with a hit of potassium. Potassium is one of the minerals you lose due to the diuretic effects of alcohol.
Get a moving!
Sorry, it be the last thing you feel like doing, but some light exercise can go a long way. Exercising will release endorphins that help improve your mood. Just make sure you keep your water bottle handy. We’re big fans of a dip in the ocean too, that’ll clear the cobwebs for sure.
Drinking a cup (or two, we won’t judge) of coffee can be enough to help a pounding headache. Coffee acts as a vasoconstrictor, which means it lessens the swelling of your blood vessels which causes the headache. If you’re trying to get up and moving for work the morning after, a bit of caffeine never hurts!
Go back to bed. Amen.
Sleeping your way through a hangover is never a bad idea!
It just not attractive being one of ‘those’ girls. So keep your sh!t together, look after yourself and your mates. And of course, the most fool-proof way of curing a hangover is to not get one.
